We both loved to paint.
We both loved to paint.
That’s how we first met—in watercolor class in college at UNLV. It helped that we both majored in graphic design, we were lucky that we could take most of our classes together. Those early days we would help each other with homework (well mostly Lam fixing Lisa’s illustrator files so they’re pixel perfect, flash forward to the present and he’s fixing Lisa’s wedding invitation file).

After graduation, there was no doubt that we wouldn’t be together.

We took the risk to continue pursuing our dreams in New York, without knowing anyone or having a job lined up. To us, it was an adventure of a lifetime. In our 800 sq. feet apartment, we were never far apart. Even during workdays, we found ways to meet halfway for lunch. And after work we would wait at the L train platform for each other just so we could walk home together. We feel so lucky that the backdrop of our early dating days was in the greatest city in the world.

as we introduced new interests to each other along the way. A love for traveling (Lisa likes to explore and take photos), going to new restaurants (mostly ramen because of Lam), and visiting art museums (especially the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo). In our 12 years of dating, we've moved 5 times, embarked on a 3 month journey through 9 European countries, and spent a total of 6 months in Japan. We have made countless memories.
